I received an offer of admission from McGill on March 19 and it says under Conditions that I must maintain my current level of academic achievement and obtain my high school diploma. I'm wondering if anyone knows what they mean by "maintain". Do I have to keep my average the same? Or score at least the same in all my required courses?
Also McGill's deadline for residence is June 15 and the deposit is $1500 which is a lot of money for me. Cancellation fee before August 1 is $500. Do they make an exception if I am not admitted?
Thanks in advance.

I was an admit to McGill, and I was also wondering about this (because I wasn't doing so well second semester).

Even though I ultimately decided to not enroll at McGill, I did find out the answer to this. If McGill rescinds you (withdraws its offer of admission), it will refund your deposit (which is the $200 enrollment deposit + the $1500 housing deposit). If you choose to withdraw on your own though (because of a waitlist offer or some other circumstance), then you won't be refunded.

So if you are definitely committed to McGill and aren't waiting on any waitlist offers, you can make that housing deposit without fear of losing your money if you end up being rescinded.

Thank you.
Were you admitted unconditionally or was it the same vague condition as I have here?

I think most college acceptance letters include an admonition to keep up grades. If your grades have dropped significantly you might want to call admission to discuss with them.

Thanks for the link MD_Mom. I was expecting more specific conditions from McGill after receiving an offer from UBC stating that I must keep an average of at least 67%.
