McGill Decisions Class of 2021 (entering 2017)

I just checked my portal and the status is “further review required”. A new section for interim grades opened up. Is that referring to Q1 grades or just midyear grades

@SwimmingDad Will do so, they should be coming out early February. Thanks for the words of encouragement, I am doing my best!

@huijin246 I don’t think it matters which, I uploaded my Q1 grades and they were processed fine, though they may also ask for your midyear grades later on. Good luck!

Hey everyone I have some questions!
So I applied to the Ingram School of Nursing as my first choice and Faculty of Arts with the French concentration as my second choice. I was admitted to the Faculty of Arts yesterday (only 10 days after submitting my application, yay!) but Nursing is still “further review required” and they requested my midyear grades for Nursing, but not for Arts.

Is this a sign I might not get into Nursing? My math grades are lower than the minimum for both Arts and Nursing but my extenuating circumstances letter explained this. I applied for the Major scholarship so they could see my extensive extracurriculars.

Please help, I’m very anxious!

How long does it usually take for the status to change from “further review required” after submitting mid year grades? I uploaded an unofficial first semester transcript on the 24th of December and they received the official transcript on January 13th. I applied to Arts and Arts & Science and neither status has changed in over a month

Okay, I’ve gotten my Q2 results onto Minerva. Any ideas as to how long I should expect to wait?

Decisions tend to come pretty quickly after submitting a midyear report – usually no more than a week. @ClGsOpF0722 – call the admissions office and verify that your file is in fact complete.

Hi has any A-Level applicant received their decision yet? Mine still says ‘Ready for Review’ after like 3 months :confused:

Same here!

@Rukoki My S just loaded his mid-year grades last night as well. And like you, his waiting now begins/continues.

You’ve got strong numbers…keep the faith!

@SwimmingDad Thanks, I’m doing my best! Good luck to your son!

My application status was changed to “Further Review Required” today, is that good? I know it’s obviously not an acceptance right off the bat but could they have potentially rejected me right away without asking for my mid-year report?

@eeb7777 It means you are missing some documentation. Scroll down and look under “Checklist”. Anything without a date in the “received” column needs to be uploaded. If there are errors or you have questions, call McGill Admissions. They are incredibly helpful.

I sent McGill my CSS profile but it doesn’ t display anywhere on the portal. Should I contact the admissions office to confirm if they have received it or not?

@eeb7777 Also note that once you add whatever document is missing your status will not change from “Further Review Required” until human hands in admissions touches the file again. I just confirmed this with them yesterday.

I am a Canadian citizen living in the US and I applied to McGill on January 1st for Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts. I got denied by the Bachelor of Science because I was missing SAT II scores but I was admitted for the Arts on January 18th. I have a 4.27 GPA and 31 for the ACT.

Wait–I thought if you provided ACT scores, you didn’t need to send SAT subject tests.
@Kueeen1999

My counselors should have sent my transcript my mail in October/November, however it says they haven’t been received/processed. When I receive my mid-year transcript on Monday would it be worth trying to upload it electronically?

@Elisevl Yes!

@kueenkenya

You were not denied in Science for lack of SAT II scores. You were denied for some other reason. If the ACT is submitted you do not need to send SAT II’s.

From the McGill website, emphasis theirs:

Does anyone know the operating hours of the admissions office (When they actually process/look over admissions)?
