McGill Decisions Class of 2021 (entering 2017)

Well, I sent SAT scores as an international, and I guess it’s never going to hurt.

How u sent
Through college board.
Or just reported in application. Pl tell

I found out abd send from college board

@USUG21 both

My status is “Reviewed - Decision Pending” and has been for at least a week now. Does anyone know how long until the actual decision is released?

Hey guys! I just have a question or two regarding the Undergraduate Entrance Scholarship.

I am an international student and I submitted my scholarship application before the deadline. One of my recommendations was sent electronically, and the other was sent both by mail and email. The one sent by mail was postmarked in time. On the “My Student Aid” status bar, it says that additional requirements are missing for the scholarship. I checked my checklist and it says that my letters of recommendation were processed today. My class rank was also included on the transcript I initially submitted for admission. I also tried calling the Scholarship Office today from school, but my calls kept failing.

What else could I be missing? Or does it take a few days to update the status under “My Student Aid”? Should I be worried? Thanks so much guys

Does anyone know how late McGill sends out decisions? I know that they are only open until 5pm but do they continue to send out decisions after that?

@sd4586 I’m in the same situation as you, about 2 weeks now. I can’t find any information as to how long to expect to wait, only that it will be April at the very latest.

If anyone could answer, is the amount of time it takes to render a decision based upon the strength of the applicant, or is it random?

My S just got into the Faculty of Arts…still waiting on Desautels (commerce).

U.S.high school (over the top competitive): 3.5 unweighted; 31ACT; solid subject test scores; multiple AP and Honors classes. Lots of extra curriculars (3 sport athlete; 4 year letterman; tons of volunteer time for Special Olympics and Best Buddies)…though none of the ECs matter for McGill.

Very happy for him. Highly likely he will be there in the Fall.

@SwimmingDad congratulations! How long did he have to wait for his results? I should be handing in my midyear results soon and my stats are very very similar to his

@anniee3434 Submitted grades on Jan. 24…heard today…8 days.

@SwimmingDad … did u get a mail or saw in the portal… tht ur ward is admitted.

Through the portal (Minerva).

@SwimmingDad Congrats! We both have similar stats, so I am feeling a bit more confident now.
Did you just see when logging on to Minerva, or was an email also sent?

Still at decision pending, hope to know by the end of next week.

@Rukoki He saw when he logged into Minerva. He hasn’t received an email yet. Clearly, McGill wants you to log in way too often.

In looking up info on the McGill website for an earlier poster I came across this. McGill is quite explicit in its non-holistic policy:

@SwimmingDad Yep, sounds about right.

I have a feeling that the reason I have not received a decision yet whilst others have may have something to do with the fact that I took the SAT subject tests instead of the ACT.

@sd4586 what faculty did u apply to? and what was ur sat score/gpa? thanks

I sent all scores and uploaded transcripts some 3 days back. Its showing ready for review…do i need to do any thing else…

My unweighted GPA is 3.84 and SAT score (new) is 1,350 (US High school). Grades are high in all pre-req courses and I applied to Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Science.
