Hi everyone. I sent my SAT score (1460 new) on Wednesday, but since I am an Colombian student, and I am not required to send a SAT score, will they just ignore it? And if they do consider it, do you think it’s good enough?
Hello everyone! I’m a Canadian (and also Quebec) citizen and an international student coming from a french educational system (french baccalaureate) but living outside France and Canada (actually in Africa). My average is around 17.50 on a scale of 20 (which is really excellent in a french grading scale cuz excellent starts with 16)
McGill only asked me for my grades from 11 and 12th grade and my TOEFL score (which is 92, i was sick that day and I didn’t have time to take it again but the minimum is 90 for McGill so…?)
I applied in mid-december and sent all my missing materials around january 20th, and my application is still on “further review required”
What does that mean? What do u think my chances of getting admitted are ? Anyone in the same (or almost, cuz my situation is pretty weird tho) situation than I am and could maybe give me some advice ?
Thank you so much!
I forgot to mention that I applied for both BA and BA&Sc (both on “further review required” status)
thanks!
Any international student from SE Asia? Asking for my friend who is waiting anxiously for the decision
Has anyone who applied for architecture hear back yet?
My status has remained “ready for review” for nearly two months! Does any one know whether this is ok to happen?
it is okay.
“Ready For Review
All documentation received and your application is under review
NO ACTION required”
guess you’re just gonna have to wait like many of us, sorry! i know it sucks.
@Lins99
Hey, further review required means they added some new stuff to your checklist, did you check what it is? After you complete all the things in your checklist, they will review your application again.
Btw is French Baccalaureate different than IB? did you submit any predicted scores or anything?
I submitted all the new stuff they asked me on january 20 as I told you, they didn’t add anything more since then and I’m still waiting for an answer…
Yeah French baccalaureate is quite different from IB : different grading scale, not all the same subjects, different way of grading it etc.
I will get a french baccalaureate in sciences, which means I have :
maths, biology, physics, chemistry, philosophy, english, spanish, arabic, french (that I got last year and I got 20/20 at writing and 15/20 for the oral exam), physical education (including 3 different sports), history and geography, and arts as an option (my major is physics)
we don’t have any predicted scores or something similar, we have to wait until july to get our grades.
I know i am in a science section in high school, but do u think I still can have chances for a BA or a BA&Sc ?
@CosmicMaria: My understanding is that Canadian schools use SAT/ACT as a first gate and then everything beyond that is GPA etc. In the US, both are in play so you can be higher on one and lower on the other. In Canada, average for top 4-6 (school dependent) subjects is final arbitrator. SAT in mid-1400s should be solid if it is well balanced because most schools actually have a cut off for each section: https://www.mcgill.ca/applying/requirements/minima/usa
SAT/ACT’s are only required for US applicants. They will likely have to relevance for Canadian or overseas applicants.
@Braindrainer thanks! I got 700 on the reading and writing section and 760 on the math one, I really hope they take it into account.
I was wondering why they need so much time under the condition that no activity or essay is included in the application… :-S
Thanks!
How many of u applied for U of T?
@Ehhu Indian here, waiting for my decision, applied on Dec 22, status still says ready for review.
@C. Y. Forest McGill has had a 20% increase in applications from the Us and a 22% increase in applications from overseas this year. They are likely trying to balance the student mix and reevaluating cutoffs.
@TomSrOfBoston: Wow, there are that many folks trying to escape from Trump’s America plus students from all over the world who hesitate to go to the US for education?
@C. Y. Forest I applied to the Faculty of Arts and Science at U of T
Wow, that just made me feel even more nervous about not being yet accepted
