McGill Desautels French student

Hi everyone,

I am a student with a French Baccalaureate.
I am applying to McGill University for a B Com (Desautels). It is now almost the end of May and my application is still Further Review Required.

My grades at the French Bacc were overall 16.3 and Maths 17. On the website of McGill they say the admission standards last year were overall 13.5 and Maths 14.

I am feeling worried because I still haven't heard back from them at all and I start wondering if I am going to be refused ...

What are your thoughts ? Do you know anyone with a French Bacc who got in, and with which grades ?

Thanks a lot !!!

Call them directly.
McGill is “numerical” so typically if you exceed their standards, you’re in (but then you have to perform or leave).

Thank you for replying !

I called them on Friday since it was the deadline to give decisions however they are late on reviewing all applications. And of course they don’t want to say anything regarding the chances to get in …

I really hope I can get in !

Are you studying there ?

So, did you hear? What offer did you get? This would be useful to students in your situation.

Hi

So I kept calling them frequently (about twice a week, sometimes three times), after a while I had someone who asked my file to be reviewed by her boss with an admission officer, then I had no news after 3 days and decided to call them again they said they will put a note on my file and the next day I got my decision.
I have been accepted pending final results and I just sent them my final results so I am in for good, starting Fall 2014

I hope it will help applicants in the same situation =)

Good luck !!!

Thanks for the update!
