Mcgill or UBC?

HeLp!
i'm having trouble deciding between the two... i'm pretty sure i will be accepted by both.
i'm looking at biology/premed and currently live in vancouver.
it seems the natural choice to choose UBC, but i'm a little bored with vancouver. know the town, know the campus, know the people.. extension of HS..

but there's the $ as well.
ill probably receive $4000 from UBC and none garanteed for Mcgill yet.. i WILL be able to save a lot in UBC since i would be living home. sigh. bit frustrated.

any wise words on pros and cons of those two? thanks big time!!!

I think you should go to McGill if the money isn't a big issue.

I'm an international at UBC right now, and it's a great school. The people are friendly, the campus is beautiful, and the city ain't too bad. But yeah, it can get boring after a while. And if you've lived here all your life, then going to college as an extension of high school probably isn't a great idea if you could do otherwise. I think having new experiences in college is important, and if UBC isn't going to do it for you, then you should give McGill a shot.

I'm in UBC at the moment but I hope to transfer to McGill next year. Just that McGill seems to be a better school for the arts and I feel like while Vancouver is a decent city, Montreal would be an awesome place too.

ya like thedoverdemon said, i think i would want to experience something new. (however, i have only been living in Vancouver for 4 years. )

there's also another concern. i heard that mcgill is extremely competitive. anyone have any idea how the competition compares with UBC? i really want to achieve good marks in university as i aim to apply to an US graduate school.

im considering about going to either as well! any thoughts?

Well, laloland, what are you looking for specifically? It's hard to give advice just without some more info and/or perspective.

Yeah, what program are you looking into, and what kind of college experience are you looking for? What things matter to you more? Reputation, campus location, atmosphere, etc.?

i'm going into sciences as well. which school do you guys thing is more competitive in this area?

UBC is probably best known for its math, computer science, and sciences program in general. How that compares to McGill, I can't really say. But either way, I think both are good schools.
