I have been accepted to both McGill and Queens in Canada. For Queens it's a special first year in England program. I don't know where to go, possible majors I 'm considering:
Econ
International Relations
Law ( later on)

also take into consideration that I value the professor/student interaction, student body diversity, the MUN clubs, how the library is ( my fav place in the world ), and study abroad options. Name recognition is somewhat important and I might return to Asia ( maybe Hong Kong) after graduation.

All I can say with any confidence is that McGill almost certainly has more "name recognition" in most non-engineering majors. Both are very good though, and for different things and I can't help any more.

Mcgill pretty diverse considering alot of Americans go there and draws alot of ppl all over the world because of it reputation. Prof/Student interaction, all depends on you unless your class size is 10 to 1.

I would go with Queen's much more of undergrad focused university, with an Ivy feel. and I for one love Kingston. the kids from Queen's, St. Lawrence college and the royal military college have turned it into a fun college town. And close enough to Montreal when you want a big city escape.

My D had same decision and made the following comments:

Queens had more school spirit, more involved athletically more "fun atmosphere"

Queens is more intimate with profs and fellow students. More people seem to know each other

Commerce (business) is one of the top schools in any country, with very good international reputation

Kingston is rather dull but not any more so than other smallish towns/cities

Montreal is much more vibrant city

McGill has more academically intense feeling, less personal

McGill requires more individual drive and independence to get the most out of the school

Larger more urban school much like U Toronto, NYU, etc.

McGill strong in sciences

Bottom line: both have top educations - McGill is more like Big State U in an urban setting and Queens is smaller and more intimate

Canadian here, seems like most posting above are Americans

Basically the general consensus I have heard here, is that for your major areas, pre-law, international relations, and especially economics Queens is a stronger school. McGill wins in sciences however.

Other criteria, yes McGill is more internationally reputable, more diverse student body, yet Queens is known to be more undergraduate focused, "intimate," even as Montreal >>>>> Kingston.
