every year McGill residences do a ski trip for all students in rez...this year it's to Mont Sainte Anne, up near Quebec city. I am very very much looking forward to it--it's this coming weekend! It's not free but it's a really great bargain ($200 for two days and two nights of skiing, accomidations, and a big party). I've been an avid skier all my life so I'm quite excited :)

awesome, ive been to mont saint anne and mont tremblant, mont saint anne was alright, i cant remember it that well, it was good though. tremblant was good for the two runs i got through, before i broke my shoulder and was forced to watch canadian curling during the olympics, tons of fun. have a blast, skiing is definatly awesome

ooh, that sounds like so much fun! have a great time!

its kind of cool, we have more posts in 6 months, then the other forum had in like 2 and/or three years

how wud u rate the mcgill's business school?

A couple questions...
1. How's McGill's poli sci program?
2. How early would you have to apply to get into New Rez? (I'm Canadian if that helps at all... from Western Canada).
I love McGill... it is definetly one of my top choices. I've been there twice for a Model UN conference that they run (SSUNS).
En plus, je suis en immersion depuis toujours. Montreal est une ville magnifique...

McGill's business school is solid but not one of it's better known or better renowned programs. Nevertheless I'm taking a management course (financial accounting) this term, and my friends in management do well. Besides management throws the best parties.

McGill is strong in poli sci, or so i believe because of all the polisci students here. LoL

When you apply doesn't matter for residence. It may seem unfair, but that's the way it is. Your place in the "line" is determined by a lottery system, where you're assigned a number. The numbers are the orders the applications are processed in. If, when they get to your application, your first choice is full, they proceed to look at your second choice, then your third choice, etc, until they come to one with an opening. New Rez generally goes pretty quick. So it really is a luck game....make sure your second choice or third choice is a residence you'd be comfortable living in. However, if after you move in and if you really don't like your rez, you can request a room change. You have a decent chance of sucess.

Montr

ich wunsche das mcgill einen antworte geben koenten.

god dammit i wish mcgill could give me an answer already. **** man

I'm a little worried right now, McGill is one of my top choices and I finished my application a few weeks ago but they havent recieved my transcript yet which i gave to my school mid November and was probably sent mid December. I;m not sure what to do but i sent it to:

Admission, Recruitment and Registrars Office, McGill University
James Administration Building
845 Sherbrooke Street West
Montreal, Quebec, Canada H3A-2T5

At this point I'm thinking that I maybe made a mistake in the mailing address?

the address is correct, thats exactly where i sent my docuemnets.

it takes time for them to record on minerva so keep ure patience.

i found out some information for concordia if anyone is intressted. after trying to get to talk with an admissions rep from it, it took 4 days, i found out, you need a 2.5 minimum gpa, like thats the cut off, and they review international students first probably in the begining/middle of febuary

"Applicants (who are not exchange students) whose first choice of program is in the faculties of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Arts, Education, Engineering, Management or Science or in the School of Architecture, Nursing, Physical and Occupational Therapy, or Social Work should send all supporting documents to:

MAILING ADDRESS:

McGill University

688 Sherbrooke St. W.

"

that's where i sent mine and it got there

this is an odd question, but here goes it, harpgirl, or anybody else, did you have to send your mid year grades tomcgill? im just wondering, because concordia has asked for them, but i dont remember mcgill desiring them, i remember saying they will only be able to evaluate based on the grades recieved at the time of completion of the application, which was for me at the beginning(4th) of november, danke

i think mine are going. i was looking at all the schools that wanted mid term grades in this packet my school has, and i saw mcgill's. but i can't be sure

hmm...should really study for econ final...but this board is so addictive.

I just come here when I'm bored outta my mind...note that I AM NOT STUDYING in lieu of posting and reading.

...if only McGill was allowed to become private..., it could be so much better

ya but then tuition wouldn't be that cheap

My midyear, as in my 1st semester Senior year grades? I wasn't going to send them but then McGill requested them so I sent them in.

There was a big article in the McGill Daily (i think) about how if McGill were part of any other provence we'd be so much better...most McGill/Concordia students think that our schools get shafted bigtime by the francophone government, who really shows preference to the french schools (UdM, UQAM). Whether they actually do or not, i have no idea.

And I'm proud of myself, I did accounting, physics, calculus, and chemistry BEFORE getting on CC tonight :D

hahaha good work! i don't think mcgill would be mcgill without montreal. omg how many classes do u have each semester? please tell me no more than four. cause i'm on block scheduling and if i ever have to take more than 4 classes at a time, i don't think i'll survive.

I was on block scheduling my senior year of HS w/four classes per day, for a total of eight classes per semester

Arts students generally take five, and science/engineering take four. This is because the average credit load is 15 credits per term, and arts classes are generally worth 3 and science worth 4.

Last semester I took five courses (three required and one elective), for 17 credits, however this semester I'm only taking 4, for 15 credits. 5 courses is doable, but takes a lot of time. a friend is attempting a 19 credit load this semester; it'll be interesting to see how he handles it.

And I agree that the major charm of this school is that it's in Montr
