Quick question (well not really): I'm using this 2006 McGraw Hill ACT book that has 5 practice tests in it. I did an English and Math timed section, and by the curve that they gave in the book, I received a 31. I was ecstatic, however I thought something might be wrong. The reason I think that is because from what I've read here, it should be quite tough to receive a 31. For english, I missed 11 questions out of 75. The book told me to take my raw score (64) and multiply it by 36, then divide it by 75. From there I got 30.72 which rounds to 31. For Math, I got 9 wrong out of 60. It told me to take my raw score (51) and multiply it by 36, then divide it by 75. I ended up getting a 30.6, which again rounds to 31. Please let me know if this curve is way too lenient, and how you performed on the real thing compared to the McGraw Hill tests. I'm going to get the Real ACT Book and see what I get there; hopefully that should be more accurate. Are the curves easier because the tests in this book might be harder? The test seemed easy, yet I missed a lot of easy questions and made stupid mistakes. Please answer these questions, thanks! :)
