<p>Hi my name is Sandra and I am really looking into going to UVA for McIntire. So for current or previous students, how is McIntire, particularly the marketing department? How is the diversity and the overall atmosphere?? Oh and in the first two years when you are taking the pre-reqs, can I take classes to fulfill a communications minor since I know once you get into McIntire, you wont have enough time to take outside courses?</p>
<p>I will be entering the comm school in the fall, but since school hasn’t started yet I really can’t tell you anything about the atmosphere… because I have yet to find out! but you definitely have time to take other non-comm classes when fulfilling your prerequisites
(depending on what general requirements you have to fulfill, if any). A fair number of people also do a double major, usually in the college of arts and sciences… which I am also considering. Third year you have to take all the core comm courses, but fourth year most people have time to finish their second major… it also depends on whether or not you pursue one or two concentrations.
