Congrats! Our D received Cooper offer today. We visited in January and she loved the school. Hope she makes this decision soon. Good luck to everyone else waiting for the letters.

Son also received McKissick today. He will definitely be going but still hoping to get into Capstone. So happy to have a decision.

Post stats please i’m dying to know. If I get it, I’m going-- if not, then I can’t. :(

Mckissick…instate plus 2000.00 per year…OOS/NY/male/30ACT/1340SATS/GPA…don’t know, overall 93 average/all honors/6AP’s by senior year.

So does Capstone decision come in a separate correspondence from the school? D received Woodrow today.

Capstone does come separately. My S is a junior there and it has been wonderful. Capstone was a great environment–made some great friends–all who are very serious academically but also have enjoyed themselves. If you do well, opportunities will come. S has a great internship and has received other scholarships along the way. He can’t see himself anywhere else. We are from PA.

Thanks, rajalg. Much appreciated.

Rajalg…we are from NY, does student travel northbound present a problem? May I ask what is your son’s major? Where was capstone housed when he was in freshman year?

@pbojkner just got the mckissick scholarship today; 3.97 UW GPA and 1340 SAT

Got the Woodrow 4.1 weighted 1230 two part :)

My son received the McKissick. 31 ACT 4.13 GPA. Congrats to all!

Sent from my DROID RAZR using CC App

So relieved that S received the McKissick today. Worth $72,700 over 4 years - that’s significant for us! He also received a Jesse Mercer Scholarship from Mercer U - $96,000 over 4 years. He just has to visit Mercer in a couple of weeks and make a decision. Congrats to all who have heard and best of luck to those who have not.

Oh stats - SAT 1350 math & verbal, didn’t take ACT, weighted gpa 4.2ish (give or take)

D got a letter in the mail today awarding her a McKissick!

OOS, 3.5UW/4.1W, 1320/1980 SAT

Son received a letter with a Cooper scholarship, in state tuition plus another $4000.
Annual Tuition and Fees - In-state: $10,168, Out-of-state: $26,352
Annual Tuition and Fees for an out of state student with a Cooper scholarship - $6,168.
This is pretty nice.
I am thinking we should schedule an Honors visit to SC during April but maybe not buy the plane tickets yet.

i got the Mckissic scholarship today! Really throws a wrench in my decision, i thought I was committed to UF. (I’ve never been to the state of South Carolina) hopefully i can visit for Scholar’s day.

4.43 GPA 1850 SAT

MidwestMom - I got the same scholarship today! It definitely put SC higher on the list. Combine that with Lieber for National Merit and it’s hard to say no. Tuition will be $168… all that’s left is room & board.

D received the Woodrow scholarship today with the primary benefit being that OOS tuition is reduced from $25,952 to $13,780 (including an add’l $500 award). SAT 2,050 (1,350 for 2) 3.87 GPA and tons of EC’s/ APs. Very affordable now. But sooo far away (we’re from CA). Any other Californian’s out there?

rajalg-what other scholarships came your son’s way? Any other advise for taking full advantage of the capstone experience?
