We are looking at the Housing and Dining Options and these two choices came up:

15 Meals per week - $200 Munch Money
19 Meals per week - $150 Munch Money

Which do you recommend, and why?

Thanks!

When my son was living in the dorms two years ago, he got the 19 meals per week meal plan and he still was hungry on the weekends! This includes three meals a day Monday through Friday and only two meals each day on Saturday and Sunday. He often would tell me he was hungry on the weekends. Of course, he did eat three meals a day always. If your child is not a breakfast eater, guess he/she could go down to the 15 meals a week. My son felt like he needed breakfast to get ready for the busy academic day.

I recommend you do not select the 15 meal plan. It will not save you any money. The cost of room and board for first year students is the same no matter which of the 2 plans you select.

Students may use the meal plan up to 4 times per day, at any dining center or Grab-n-Go. My son made full use of the 19 meal/wk plan and now as an off-campus student, has a 5 meal/week plan. He highly recommend’s the handmade organic beef hamburger’s at Farrand Hall’s Go Fresh Grab-n-Go!
