Meal Plan

I love WaWa and there is one 1.8 miles from campus! Anyway, I was wondering which meal plan I should get. I don't think I need the unlimited I would probably would use the MPE or the points more than going to a dining hall, but I don't know. What did everyone else choose and how did you like it?

They are all basically the same thing…

You have meals, MPEs and points. If you have unlimited then you get unlimited meals, or unlimited visits to the three main dining halls on South, Main and West (spit, pit, st. marys). Food gets boring fast, but you can get a quick snack throughout the day. MPEs are great, since you can pick up snacks and meals throughout the day and late at night. Get the plan with most MPEs and Points…you can use points at the mini market stores and pick out any type of packaged food you want.

So definitely get the most points/MPEs. Everyone uses up points fast…you will find yourself eating at local restaurants more often throughout the year since food gets boring!

i agree with aesthetics. I just finished sophomore year and so far despite having an unlimited meal plan I always tend to run out of points by the middle of the semester. Unlimited is nice because you do not have to worry about running out of meals, which a lot of my friends have to deal with. I’d say get unlimited for one semester, then change it if you don’t like it.

The unlimited meal plan is a huge waste of money that you’ll be paying off with interest in the form of student loans. Save every penny that you can while you are there, you’ll be happy later. When I was there, I knew absolutely no one that needed the unlimited meal plan. The ones that had it probably only went once or twice a day for the first year and a half. There are grocery stores 10 minutes away by bike. You can save a lot of money by simply biking to the grocery store once a week. That’s what I did. The on campus stores horrifically jack up the prices of their commodities. Milk was around $5 for a half gallon if I remember correctly, and that was in 2003 or 2004.

Well depends, I eat about 4,000 calories a day (Im a competitative distance runner though so dont try it lol) and I always envied the unlimited meal plan since you can grab two meals to go everyday and then grab snacks at the dining halls whenever and use your points leftover to buy videogames at the end of the semester. I made it by on 19 though but I had to steal fruit and bread all the time from the halls so I could eat every 3 hours
