Would it be more beneficial to sign up for the 210 plan or the 255 plan? I don't know if I'm going to seriously eat meals on campus three times a day, but it could be useful just in case.

I’m planning on living at Livingston, if that helps in any way.

Livingston has a brand new, really nice dining hall. Even so, I don’t think you will need more than the 210 meal plan.

Freshman in residence halls are required to sign up for the 210 plan as a minimum. If you find you are running low on meals, (I can’t imagine you will…) you can either buy up to 5 meal blocks (5 meals for $35) or upgrade your plan to a higher one.

My son and his friends used about 150ish meals each during the semester, but they are not huge football-player types. Remember that sometimes you may go home, sometimes you may order out or go out for your meals. Food delivery is cheap and lots of places will leave circulars on your door.

If there is a chance you might use alot of meals I’d take the 255 because the difference in cost is minimal (less than $100). You can use the extra swipes for take out and at the football and basketball games (if you plan on going).

Also living on Livingston you will love the cafeteria.

You also have 2 weeks at the start of the semester to change your plan so you can get a feel for how much you will use.

You can always upgrade your meal plan. Reductions/cancellations are in the first 2 weeks of the semester only.

Thanks guys! I decided to go with the standard 210 plan. I saw a video of the new dining hall at Livingston and it looks incredible, especially with those chefs preparing such freshly made food. My local high school’s cafeteria food pales in comparison big time. What’s the best meal they have to offer at Livingston? I don’t want to get too fat from eating all of it since I want to try Stuff Yer Face, R.U. Hungry, and Thomas Sweet when I’m up in New Brunswick too!

When my daughter was a freshman we got her the bigger meal plan. She barely used half of the meals. Don’t waste your money on it.

If you go away for weekends or tend to skip breakfast (or late breakfast/early lunch), the 210 plan will be sufficient.
