Are they worth it? I know with different schedules, different lifestyles, different activities, people have different opinions on whether it is actually a wise plan to go with it. Truly, does the plan outweigh the cost? As you may guess, I haven't yet stepped foot on campus (yes, a shame), and I want to know about the food. Are the foods as delicious as advertised or just mundane, and are they healthy? I have not yet seen a thread discussing food for UCF and although it may not be as high up as other priorities, I think it's still rather important. After all, the food eaten does fuel the body, gives energy, helps one think and do better in and out of class.

The food is okay. It depends on what it is. They always have a grilled dish, an actual dinner/lunch dish, sandwiches, a pasta dish, salad bar, pizza and desserts. I’d get it if you are not planning to cook for yourself (ramen every night doesn’t count).

A lot of people will say the food is awful…those people have gourmet chefs for parents or are comparing the food to restaurant quality.

However, I would not advise getting the full access plan UNLESS you eat breakfast everyday and never plan on purchasing food. (I never eat breakfast, so anything over 15 meals a week is a waste).

OK, I get what you’re saying. The food is not exactly top-chef quality, but it is edible and sometimes even better depending upon the choice. If I do get a meal plan, I probably won’t get all-acess because I don’t always eat breakfast. And I don’t have gourmet chefs for parents so I’ll survive.

Also, warning, the meal plan is a full year contract. They don’t exactly make that apparent on the page for it. You can down/upgrade it between semesters, but you will incur a fine if you remove it completely.

The food is OK several times a week if you’re on campus, but can get tiring… I only go to the student union to get a buffalo chicken wrap at that one cafe place from time to time. Everything else, I don’t really care for. I remember my first year when I divided the meal plans and the costs down to each meal, the amount came out to be almost identical to the amount I would spend when purchasing the meal individually, so I decided not to get it.

Also, I’m looking at the website and the meal plans seem to only apply to eating at the marketplace and knightro’s… LOL. That’s such a ripoff unless you want to eat at the same two places everyday, every meal, to get your money’s worth.

imo, don’t do it.

Edit; NO, NO, and NO!!! They only give you $50 worth of knight cash to eat at other places besides knightro’s and the marketplace. Heaven forbid, ok, it’s definitely not worth the money!! The All access 7 plan is crazy! Almost 2k for a semester!! I spend about $300-400 bucks a semester on food and I eat comfortably!

Thanks. I was looking at the prices and wondering if they were worth it also. I don’t want to be overspending on the average “ok” food lol. Plus, I’m a vegetarian so it’s hard to find decent food that I can and/or want to eat. When it’s summed up that way it seems really exorbitant.
And I don’t want to get fined if I tire of the food.
