Current students or parents of current students, your opinion please: if you have lived on campus relatively recently, which meal plan worked for you/your student? We're leaning toward fewer meals/more paw points because it seems more flexible and economical. Would especially appreciate hearing from guys/those with heartier appetites, too.

Next year all plans are much better than they have been before. They are offering significantly more meals. Quite frankly, I’m kind of upset it wasn’t like that my first two years. The new plans are on lsudining.com

It really depends on what kind of stuff the student likes to eat. Does he/she want meals or just to buy a bottle of soda and a bag of chips? Does he/she want a smoothie from Smoothie King sometimes? If so, then getting more paw points is a good idea. If the student doesn’t snack, but rather eats meals, then more meals makes sense.

There are going to be a lot more meal transfer options next fall, which is why I will go with a meal oriented plan after having a paw points heavy one this Spring. Meal transfers for example are you can use a meal for a pizza, chips, and a fountain drink. Or the dining hall of course.

Right now, I’m on the smallest meal plan with the most paw points. I’m having trouble getting rid of my paw points. I hate meal plans. I can never find the perfect medium. Last semester, I had an excess of meals and a low amount of paw points. This semester, it’s the exact opposite.
