Anyone admitted to SLO’s mechanical engineering program for Fall 2006, could you please post your stats here? Thanks.

sat: 1310 (math 790)
gpa: 4.19
4 SAT IIs over 700, mathiic 780 physics 720
2 leadership positions
Lots of AP and Honors classes

Sat: 1540 (math 800 verbal 740)
GPA: 4.17
ECs dont mean anything unless recruited for sports
APs and college classes

And thanks for the info. Is there anyone else out there accepted into Mech Engr who will share their stats? I would really like to see the full range, to determine whether or not my son is in the ballpark.

Honostly im using Cal Poly as a safety school. None of my friends who applied have been rejected and they didnt have good GPAs or Sats. One probably had a 3.5 and 1120 on the SATs. I would say go for above a 3.8 GPA and above 1300 on the SATs.

I assumed Cal Poly is a safety for you. Among those for whom it is not a safety, and who want Mechanical Engineering, what is the range of scores and gpa's accepted this year? Anyone else care to contribute data?

if u have 3.3 gpa and 1030 on the sat? is that safe?

SAT: 2230 (740m, 750cr, 750w)
SATII: 800 Math IIC, 770 US Hist, 750 Physics
GPA: 3.9

although cal poly is more of a safety for me as well...hoping to get into UCLA, but i'm not liking my chances.

Still hoping to hear from more future Mechanical Engineers...
