Ok, so I am currently a transfer student at Rutgers-Newark. Transferred in from one of those for profit schools with 54 credits. I am currently taking pre-reqs for the engineering program(planning on going Chem E, will be taking Gen. Chem in the spring/Summer, University Physics in the Summer, Calc Series starting with 1 in the spring, and prob. some beginning engineering courses at NJIT or NB during the fall.) Anyways, say I achieve a decent GPA, will I have too many credits to transfer over to SOE? Or will I still be able to transfer. I am an in state Resident. This is probably like 2 years away, but I like to plan things like this, so I know what path to go. I am not in the 2+2 transfer agreement program, so i'd just be doing a reg. School to school transfer.

First of all, stop saying “anyways” ;)

You can start by looking at the Rutgers website [Transfer from School-to-School | Rutgers University School Of Engineering](http://www.soe.rutgers.edu/oaa/transfer_schooltoschool)

You can also call the engineering school directly. I don’t understand why people ask such important questions on a message board. You need accuracy here.

I don’t think any school says “once you over this amount of credits you can’t apply anymore” as long as you don’t have a bachelors you’ll be fine. I was going to say they might have a cap on how many you can take into the school but you are already enrolled at a rutgers institution so I doubt that will be a problem.
