OK I always use mechanical pencils for practice tests. But my admission ticket says "Do not bring pens or mechanical pencils", even though my mechanical pencils say #2. Can I still use them for the SAT tomorrow???

No. The computer graded sheets require a regular, plain old #2 pencil. Buy Ticonderoga brand---they are the best! Sorry---I hate pencils, too....

So, what you're really saying is, you don't do very well on reading comprehension. ;-)

Just kidding. Nope, no mechanical pencils of any kind!!

wait, can you not use mechanical pencils for bubbling multiple choice either? and they're really not allowed for essays? cause the act said the same thing, but everyone i know still used mechanical pencils anyway

just don't use them to save yourself any trouble. What's wrong with using a regular pencil anyway?

I used a mechanical pencil...

There are some people who got away with using a mech pencil, but just to be safe, use a regular pencil. It'll be better to use a regular pencil for 4 hours and get the score u r supposed to get than to use a mech pencil and get a screwed-up score.

I used a mechanical pencil (.7) for the essay and multiple choice and my scores were fine. If you write lightly I'd recommend using a real pencil. Some proctors care, some don't.

.... mechanical pencils are fine... i use them. my friends use them. everybody uses them. So you should use them.

pencil, mechanical pencil, they're all the same!

Lol! why fuss over pencils! Mechanical pencil all the way! This is year 2007 we dont need stinking pencil!
