I was accepted into Yale SCEA and was wondering if anyone knows how well Yale students fare in medical school admissions? Also, does anyone know how strong the biochem department is at Yale?

See http://www.wsjclassroomedition.com/pdfs/wsj_college_092503.pdf if you're into arbitrary rankings (that is the WSJ's generic grad school feeder rankings but, like any ranking, the criteria is suspect and it is questionable whether it is useful).

Not sure more specifically on med school. According to an old article, Yale Daily News - UCS reports surge in medical-school apps., "For the class of 2006, 90 to 95 percent of Yalies who applied to medical school were admitted."

Biochem is VERY strong, as are all pure sciences. The weak(er) part of science at Yale is in engineering.

On the whole, Yalies fair very well in getting into grad schools... but come to Yale because it is AWESOME, not just b/c you can almost certainly get into med school w/ a Yale degree...

kd: it's more a function of the caliber of Yale undergrads that gives it such a great yield to med school -- certainly not taking away from Yale itself however. Congrats
