How do the requirements for medical school compare with those for related areas such as podiatry, osteopathy, chiropractry, etc. Have students that have been accepted into say, podiatry school, taken similar courses as those students that have been accepted into med school?

bump.....i really am interested, how do they compare?

Pre-Podiatry
General Biology 2 Semesters with labs
General Chemistry 2 Semesters with labs
Organic Chemistry 2 Semesters with labs
General Physics 2 Semesters with labs
Mathematics, Calculus
English Composition 2 Semesters

Osteopathy, from what I've read, seems to require the same courses as med school.

Chiropractics requires Inorganic/Organic Chemistry, Biology, Physics, English/Communication skills, Psychology, Humanities/Social Sciences. (http://www.parkercc.edu/admissions/prerequisites.asp for more details)

Overall, all of the areas you mentioned require the 3 sciences (including Organic Chemistry), English, and, with the exception of chiropractics, Math/Calculus.

so they're all pretty similar
