Med Vs Dental school

Which is harder to get into? I heard that it is slightly easier to get into dental school. Can you please explain to me? such as, if the GPA to get into med school should be atleast 3.5, should the gpa to maintain to get into dental school 3.3? Or are they hard to get into? Is the DAT easier than the MCAT? please fill me in, thanks ahead!

No one is going to answer a question like this. You shouldn’t be basing what you want to do on which is easier, you should base it on what you want to do. When people ask these types of questions, its obvious they aren’t going to go into either of the fields.

Why are you attacking me? I am just wondering about the two because 1. I’ve always wondered, and 2. How can i figure out what i want to do without asking people for advice and what i should expect?

It’s probably something you should have done… maybe you wouldn’t be worrying if any UC’s would accept you if you did.

Sorry if im harsh, but you asked for it

If you really want to do something a .2 GPA average difference shouldn’t change your mind. The DAT is easier than the MCAT. Getting into dental school is somewhat easier than getting into medical school, but both are still difficult endeavors that require more than just grades and scores.

Depends on which schools. If you have a 3.2, you have a great chance of getting into USC’s dental school, but if you apply with a 3.2 to Harvard dental, don’t expect even an interview. I believe the average for top dental schools are 3.65+, 3.8 for Harvard.

As for med schools, I have buddies who got into osteopathic DO and carribean MD schools with 2.7-3.0. US MD schools are usually around the 3.6-3.7 mark. 3.8 for top schools.

I’m assuming you have a 3.3. You have a good chance of getting into dental schools like Meharry, Howard, USC, etc. And a darn good chance of a DO. I don’t recommend getting a carribean MD.

A 3.3 is doable for DO schools, but it is not a “good” score. You will still have to bring other things to the table.

i love you xxx your post just made me happy & gave me hope!
