Media/Journalism - Recommended Schools in West or Southwest

Looking for recommended schools for media/journalism on the west coast or southwest.
i'm a new englander tired of the snow.

thanks.

If you are interested in a university in a sunny climate I would suggest the USC Annenberg School of Communications. It offers degrees in Communication, Broadcast Journalism, Print Journalism and Public Relations.
Recently added to the faculty is Dr. Henry Jenkins, formerly of MIT. He will join the faculty in July.
Although it is an urban campus SC is known for the many fountains, sculptures, courtyards, flowering trees and tropical shrubs.
Here are two articles about the school which will give you some insights:

University of Oregon has a good journalism school. You’ll get rain instead of snow.

Arizona State University has a strong journalism program. A couple of great journalists have come out of there (for you SI readers, Arash Markazi went there).

My beloved UCLA does not have a journalism program. If you’re interested in journalism and you’re a UCLA student, you have to try to get on the Daily Bruin.

It’s tough cause it operates like a full-blown newspaper (3rd biggest circulation in LA County), but it’s totally worth it.
