Hi I had a question about getting into the Naval Acadamy (I also live in MD). When I was in 6th grade I was diagnosed with ADD and I currently take Ritilin for it today as a sophmore. I was recently (3 years ago) diagnosed with bipolar disorder and take medication for it as well. It was because my parents brought it up with my doctor because I sort of have a short fuse with them. I plan to go off ritilan and the bipolar meds this summer because my doctor agrees I may not "seriously" need them. I am really not a bad kid though, I have no history of being depressed, never suspended in school, never been in a fight or a verbal argument with an authority figure, no trouble with police, I don't do drugs, and i maintain a 3.3 3.6 GPA with AP and honors classes in school. I am also a ranked on a national scale in swimming, and have a national relay record with my year round team and several local records. I am a Life-guard at my summer pool, I am also training as a high-school cadet for the volunteer fire dpt. Any kind of information on weather or not I can get in would be great.. Its always been a dream of mine, I have long family military legacy, my dad went to the acadamy, my cousin is a graduate and a SEAL, my mom just retired from the public health service (part of the navy), and my uncle flew in Vietnam and is on his 3rd tour in Iraq and is in the Aviation hall of fame. I'm very passionate about going to USNA and possibly USCG if i can get in.
