Does anyone know what the medical school acceptance rate is for dartmouth?

I think its around 85%

But, also something to note is that last year around 45 dartmouth seniors applied to medical school (87% acceptance rate) while 145 dartmouth alumni applied to medical school (83% acceptance rate).

I think the original poster wants to know the overall admissions rate, not the admissions rate from alumni at Dartmouth.

if you do the math on the above numbers, you get last year's acceptance rate for dartmouth graduates to be a touch under 84%...assuming they're right.

Just as with graduates of HYP, Amherst, Wellesley and other top liberal arts programs, Dartmouth alumni do very well in getting into the top medical schools. Check out http://www.wsjclassroomedition.com/pdfs/wsj_college_092503.pdf for a rough estimate.

I wouldn't place any merit in the so-called "acceptance rates" into med school, since those can be easily modified and under- or over-reported by the colleges themselves. Some colleges claim to have alumni who enjoy a "100% acceptance rate" into medical schools, which is of course bogus. Because acceptance occurs after graduation in many cases, it is incredibly easy to fudge those numbers by saying people preferred to work after college or whatever.
