Medical School Applications - Do CC courses taken in high school count?

I got a B in a philosophy course I took at a local community college while I was in high school. Will this affect me in any way while applying to medical schools? I heard the AMCAS uses all college grades, even ones acquired during high school.

Gah, at least I got 4 A's from the CC too. 3.8 isn't too bad...

Yes .

Eff .

I know that you feel like you're already starting off with a smudge on your record, but you're really not. If you keep a 3.8 overall gpa throughout undergraduate, it would be a pretty solid gpa for a pre-med. I would say don't worry about your community college grades. First, they were pretty good, and second, it's too late to do anything about them.

You got a B. So what? It's not a big deal. It's not even a deal. Quit worrying about it, it will not have an effect on your GPA in the long run.

Oh you… :). You were like me when I got my first B in CC. Well, my first and only B. I have taken like 21 transferable CC course during the time I was in high school and now I’m a senior. Going to university next year so I hope the standards between the two aren’t too big. I have a 3.95 GPA so far. That B didn’t hurt that much! So best of luck! You’ll be fine. :)

BTW, I’m also a pre-med ;).

Wow, I can’t believe I just happened to stumble upon this thread I made 1.5 years ago because JoJoan posted on it today… I don’t even remember making this!

har har, randombetch’s slimy past of being a noob has been exposed.

Actually, I shouldn’t be laughing because if my chances thread from when I was a hs freshman was bumped I’d look just as much of a clueless “I-haven’t-found-the-search-button-yet” noob.

This is a question that comes up frequently.
Although all college courses taken will be listed on an AMCAS application, most admission committees will not use those take in high school (for good or bad).

wow i posed a similar question like… 10 seconds ago. how un-unique we are…
