I'm ending my freshmen year at Lake Sumter CC and I am majoring in Biology. My future goals is to transfer to UF and attend medical school. I have a 3.4 GPA so far ((not updated because my results from this semester hasn't set in). I've made C's in both Intermediate and College Algebra, but besides that I make A's and a few B's. I've been feeling bummed lately because I know medical school is completely competitive but I also believe I will do better in my higher prerequisites. I'm not the one to give up but it want to be realistic. Do I still stand a chance if I were to pull of better grades in the math department?

Yes, but if there’s something other than biology that interests you enough to major in it instead, please do so; med schools are swamped by biology applicants in any shape or form (55% per AAMC)…

However, do well on the MCAT (31+) and go shadow doctors or do community service in a healthcare-related area.
