Medicine vs. Dentistry

Is it better to go into medicine or dentistry? Which provides a better lifestyle, hours, more flexible insurance policies, less malpractice insurance, better pay, etc.? What should I consider otherwise.

1.) Depends on what you’re looking for.
2a.) Dentistry.
2b.) Dentistry.
2c.) Dentistry.
2d.) Dentistry.
2e.) Depends on what field of medicine.

what the other guy said lol

Its true though. Dentists have a much easier day to day than a doctor, although the earning potential is less, unless you specialize.

Although a dentist with good business sense would be able to make several times that of a doctor.

Orthodontists are the big money makers

Orthodontists still don’t make as much as a lot of physicians. If you really want money, surgery tends to be where its at.

You should also consider:
Do you want your hands in someone’s mouth for the rest of your life versus the far greater variety that can be found in the many medical specialties.
Is prestige important to you
How much does having an affect on people’s lives factor in, and how much an affect do you want to have.
Are you willing to go through much more extensive and (arguably) rigorous training.
