Mediocre College?

Okay, I'm a junior in highschool. My grades in highschool my first two years wern't so hot. I want to go into medicine but with my grade I'm not going to get into a GREAT college. I live in wisconsin and was kind of planning on going to UW Milwuakee, if any of you know the college it's apperantly a good college, but not like top 10 stuff.

I was planning on going there and majoring in Biochemistry, maybe even trsnafering to UW Madison, a much more respectable college and finishing off my Biochemistry major there.

What I'm wondering is if i do VERY well at Milwuakee (Like a 3.8+) will i have a chance at getting into medical school?

I'm not talking about going to hopkings or somewhere like that for medical school. But like the UW Madison's med school.

I know it will be like 5-6 years untill I would even be thinking about medical school, but i want a good idea, and grade/acceptance trends are fairly predictable.

So, how's it lookin' for me?

the formula is fairly simple. have a high gpa, high mcats and you're going to med school -- the fact that you're not concerned with going to a top tier med school only makes things easier. If you can get a 3.8+ I'm sure you'll have nothing to worry about.

Well, if i do transfer to UW madison, which is a much higher ranked and credible school... i might apply to the higher medical schools. But, will probably just go to UW Madison's medical school. They are a fairly top rank medical school, and it's already where i live.

It would be perfect. But yeah, if i applied to like hopkins and got accepeted. I'd be on the next plane out there moving my stuff because that would be a oppertunity not to pass up.

But who knows, it's a long ways away. I just wanted an idea of what i needed to do.
