In your personal opinion (everyone's is different) - are my second quarter grades mediocre? I was curious to see what YOU think, and not what a typical "rational" person would think, because often I'll see someone's grades and think to myself that they're mediocre, but then reassure them that they're decent, just because I know I have bizarre standards. So, according to your standards...

AP Environmental - 97 (A+)
AP World History - 98 (A+)
AP English Comp - 90 (A-)
Trigonometry and Pre-Cal Honors - 85 (B)
Latin IV Honors - 100 (A+)
Studio Art Honors - 92 (A-)

Give me your most brutally honest opinion. I'm talkin' crazy-Asian-parent type stuff.

85% would be mediocre at my school. It’s the lowest possible B and would probably be fairly close to the class average.
Because mediocre = average, not bad.

If your school has a lot of inflation you could have been turning in mediocre work for these grades.
But the grades themselves are not mediocre.

I don’t know why everyone’s acting like this question is completely absurd, though. Colleges get more and more ridiculous and competitive every year and your GPA has to be damn close to 4.0 to have a chance at the type of schools people on here usually think they want to go to unless your school is known for grade deflation. I’m not sure how the OP’s school calculates GPA, but at my school those percentages would be a 3.5 and that’s too low for some places.

@halcyonheather- wow okay. are you in high school now? If you think someone with those grades ^ seriously has the right to ask if they’re good enough, your school must be seriously inflated.

We have higher standards for what’s considered an A. The 90% and 92% would be Bs (3.0).
Most people with good grades aren’t good enough for top schools, hence why they reject most applicants. Like I said, coming from most high schools your GPA has to be close to 4.0 to be competitive, and even then you’ll probably be rejected, so it helps to have your grades as high as you can get them.
They’re good grades. At a non-inflated school straight Bs would be “good.” But a lot of people are better.
People on this website are rarely, if ever, referring to actual mediocrity, like maybe a 2.5 GPA and a 22 on the ACT. They’re usually asking about whether they’ll be mediocre compared to other applicants to selective colleges.

And if we extrapolate the graph, assuming the average GPA has been rising at a continuous rate, we can estimate that on average, a typical 22 ACT kid would have an uwGPA of ~3.5.
