meet USC??

im going to meet USC in a few days. i was just wondering what exactly goes on in this program. like do they interview you. how many people are in a group? do they ask you questions? are they large groups? and will it help for my admissions that i'm going, especially because i live so far away. like does it shows that i am really serious about this school? so, if anyone has gone i would really appreciate some insight on it. thankss
also, just out of curiosity, what are some things about this school that makes you want to go

if anyone know i would greatly appreciate it

The program for Meet USC is really simple - just an admissions presentation, a tour and then they break you into groups according to the department you think you'll major in. Undecided is one of the choices. There is no interview unless you arrange it separately. The tour guide - a student - will likely ask you where you're from, etc. but very low key as you walk around. It's not at all stressful. I really don't know if "demonstrated interest" is a factor at USC but visiting will probably help you express enthusiasm when you write your application. My D was the applicant, not me, but she just loved the place from the moment she set foot on campus. Hope you have the same experience although it might be quiet in August.

bumpp :]]]]

I did USC, but I don't really remember what we did. I thought it was just a tour and an info session. I don't remember any special department session, but all my visits to USC have sort of blended into one giant visit.

I interviewed with an admissions rep when they came to Chicago, and I think it helped me in the application process. It definitely helped me tell them how badly I wanted to go to USC. lol

They probably put a note in your file that you visited, but its not a make or break you thing. I visited USC 4 times. I did 2 tours, Meet USC, and Explore USC.

I just did the "meet USC" program this past Monday. It is as described above. A general intro from admissions, a tour by (great) student guides and then a break out into area of choice. I toured 7 schools total over the week and LOVED USC!

thank you guys so much...all of you. and yeah cowtipper i plan to do an interview with them when they come to new york. i definitely need that considering my GPA isn't exactly great...for usc standards

My interview was on the same day as the USC/UCLA football game. AT THE EXACT SAME TIME... I was a little bit distracted. lol... Luckily, the rep that interviewed me was just as into the game as me. Then USC lost :( but at least my interview went well. lol

haha that sucks. i would never be able to do something as important as an interview on the day of ANY USC football game. anyways i''m glad your interview went well though. if you don't mind me asking what kind of questions do they ask

The usual...

Why do you want to go to USC? Why do you want to major in _____ ? What sort of activities did you participate in in high school? The usual interview questions. I had 4 interviews last fall before I interviewed for USC. By the time the USC interview rolled around in early December, I was used to all the questions.
