I have a major dilemma. I am going to be a senior this fall. My school requires all students to take one year of visual arts to fulfill a requirement to graduate. The visual arts course must fulfill the A-G requirements for UC schools. However, I just want to get the credit by taking an online course THIS SUMMER without spending an entire school year in art.

Do you know of any ONLINE SUMMER art classes that could possibly fulfill the A-G requirements?

I think I have seen online art appreciation and art history classes offered by our local community college. You have to go to campus to take the exams. I believe your HS has to approve, the course needs to qualify, and then you get last priority to sign up. Needless to say, studio art would not be an option!

UCs will not accept online art classes. I have the same problem for my school…

What I’m doing is taking AP Art History online through FLVS, which my school will take for GRADUATION requirements. With a 3 or better on the AP exam, then I will also fulfill the UC requirements.
