Meh, Perhaps, or AWWWYEAHHH?

I’m a bit of a pessimist, but I’d love to know what you guys think about my chances at Bowdoin. Nothing specific, just a meh, perhaps, or an AWWWWYEAHHH would do.

So, I’m applying there EDII.

I’m Canadian, but I was born in Serbia, so I have both a Serbian and a Canadian citizenship.

SAT Composite: 2150
CR: 660 (totally pwned passage-based reading. Sentence completion, not so much.)
M: 690
WR: 800 (awwwyeaahhhh)

I’m taking it again in December, mostly to improve my critical reading and hopefully bump up my math to a 700.

ECs:
IN SCHOOL
-Founder and President of my school’s Key Club, starting sept 2011
-Copy Editor of school newspaper - been involved for three years, was layout editor last year
-Vice President of Human rights club - technically involved for four years, although the club was a COMPLETE fail when I was in the ninth grade. Was event coordinator for two years and became vice president this year.
-Delegate at our school’s mock United Nations three years in a row

OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL
-Volunteered at a hospital for three years. Did feeding/visiting for the first two years, and now I help out with special events eg. Bingo
-This year I became the high school representative for a Canadian organization that battles poverty/hunger in the third world (promoting the foundation’s high school programs and talking to high schoolers about the foundation), as well as an educator for their awareness campaign (educating young kids about third world issues and how the organization helps)
-I am the director of high school engagement for my city’s youth council, and I MIGHT be on the judging panel for an award that the youth council gives out
-I am a student ambassador for a children’s organization
-I have contributed to two issues of a small, volunteer-run space magazine
-I was recently hired as a 30-hour famine brand ambassador for world Vision. idk if that’s considered a job, but I am gonna get paid at the end of the year…

AWARDS
-Unfortunately, my school doesn’t really give out a lot of awards, but I did get on Honour Roll all three years.
-This year, I won an award from my school recognizing my outstanding extracurricular achievement
-This past summer, I went on a two-week tour of England, Belgium, and France along with youth from Canada, England, and France to learn about WWI. We were all winners of a prestigious and competitive history essay competition.

ESSAYS: I will try my best is all I can say. My teachers tell me I’m a good writer, so yeah.

FINANCIAL AID: yes. As an international student, I hope it won’t hurt my chances. (then again, I’m CANADIAN. Americans love Canadians, don’t they?)

TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS: Pretty sure they will be boss.

I also did an interview with an alumnus and I think she really liked me.

ATHLETICS: I like to run. I think I’ll contact a Bowdoin coach about joining their track or x-country team.

MAJOR: I’m not sure, but I’m really into neuroscience.

So, what’s the verdict? Meh, perhaps, AWWWYEAHHHH…?

btw, I didn’t tell you about my grades because I want to know what you think of the rest of my profile minus grades. My school doesn’t do rankings or percentiles as far as I know, but I’d be in the top 10%.

Need-blind a practice, not policy
Admission of international applicants can still hinge on ability to pay tuition

ORIENT STAFF

Though the College’s belief in the importance of need-blind admissions appears firm, maintaining this practice continues to be a balancing act.

But while Bowdoin has taken steps to increase financial aid funding, including a $76 million capital campaign allocation, the College’s official aid policy remains non-committal, particularly towards international students.
