Bowdoin is cool, but I’m not really married to any college yet. I feel like it’s a kind of reach for me, but I want to see what you guys think.

White male from Massachusetts suburbs (Acton)

Old: 630 CR, 700 Math
New: Just took them early October, and felt pretty confident about them (more than I did about the old ones. And the math was a joke).
SAT IIs: 780 Math 2c, 760 Chem, 460 French (hehe…he…ya… French… ha…)

GPA
weighted - 3.98/5.0
unweighted - (3.6-3.7) / 4.0

No class rank, but based on GPA graph, I am in the top 16% of my school (432 students… which says something about the GPA of the top 15%)

APs
Chem - 5
APs to take this year:
Physics (Honors class, not AP, but plan to take it anyway)
Calc AB
Comp Sci
Psych
Have Audited a Euro class (no grade), and don’t plan to take AP. I just want to learn something (partly because I’m sick of American History, and partly because my dad is british).

I won’t bother listing my entire transcript now (partly because I can’t remember most of it) but if you request it I’ll highlight the important parts.

Extra Cirricular
- Work 5 - 10 hours / week @ a small Children’s museum (11-12 grade) (BEST JOB EVER!! Ya, sure, it’s minimum wage, and the kids at the supermarket might get paid $4/hr more, but they don’t have nearly as much fun as we do!)

Honors:
NHS
National Merit thing (from PSATs)
over 125 Comm-service hours for 2004. Lost count at some point, but must be well over 200 in total.

Layout editor and writer for school newspaper (10 - 12)

Director of the Recycling club (member 10-11, director 12)

Speech and Debate (120 members on the team total - largest club/team in the whole school)
—>Dedicated member (9-11)
—>Captain (12)
—>Several trophies won in events including Humorous Interp, Play Reading, Student Congress, and Multiple.
—>One of six “Interpers” to go to a National competition in Milwaukee.
—>NOTE: Massachusetts is one of the most competitive states for Speech and Debate. Each National round felt like a normal MA final round.
—>As captain, the team is about half of my workload - which is a hellavalot! Ex. I’ve been doing stuff for it all day today, nearly nonstop, and I still haven’t started my regular homework.

—> Co-Coach of the Junior High Speech and Debate Team (Double the fun! yay! Not NEARLY as big as HS Team, but they’re much harder to control, so just as hard.)

Basic future interests:
I feel strong in Math and Science, and so far Physics is exciting (slow for Honors, but still good), but I have a passion for movies and drama. I’m trying to tie that in to SOME type of major, but don’t know what yet.

ANY input would be very helpful!! Thank you so much!!
