Massachusetts Police Search For Missing Boston College Student Franco Garcia | Fox News

Investigators tell FOX 25 that Franco Garcia was last seen at Mary Ann's in Cleveland Circle on Tuesday night.

Garcia’s friends tell police they last saw him around 12:20 a.m. and that when they went to leave he was nowhere to be found. His vehicle remains at B.C. where it has been since Tuesday.

The 21-year-old was wearing a long sleeved white and blue striped shirt and jeans. He has not been to class or work since his disappearance.

State Police flew a helicopter over a reservoir and wooded area on Sunday, and did not spot anything of significance They say that Garcia's phone signal was last found in that area.

So sad. My senior D has been friends with Franco and his fellow “band-mates” since they were all freshmen together. Let’s hope and pray that he is okay.

At S’s parent/orientation one of the parents asked about how students were kept track of. She made the un-nerving point that up until that day we (as parents) had always known within a couple of hours where our kid was. Now, who would know if he/she was missing? How long would it take for someone to notice or figure it out or sound some kind of alarm?

I know I’m too much of a worrywart, but it was just this side of terrifying, especially after S’s summer bike accident. I can’t even imagine anything worse than not knowing what has happened to my child. Pray they have an answer soon. :(

It was reported that Franco Garcia’s body was recovered from the Chestnut Hill Reservoir, just off the BC campus. They had previously searched the reservoir multiple times looking for his body. Apparently it had gone unnoticed/undetected in a thicket of weeds. Very sad day for those of us still holding out hopt that he was still alive.

My D, a senior at BC, has known Franco and his fellow “bandmates” since they were all freshmen together living on Newton Campus. Thoughts and prayers and my deepest condolences to family and friends.

It is with sadness that I write to share the news that the body recovered from the Chestnut Hill Reservoir Wednesday was most likely that of Franco Garcia, a Woods College of Advancing Studies student at Boston College who was reported missing February 22. On behalf of the entire Boston College Alumni Association, we offer prayers to Franco’s family, friends, classmates, and professors.

In such challenging times, many of us find it comforting to turn to our faith for healing and guidance, and to pray for all who face life’s difficulties. Should you wish to join in our community’s prayers for Franco, please visit On Eagles Wings, offered by the Alumni Association as an online forum for the prayers of all alumni, parents, and friends. Your prayer requests will be brought to St. Mary’s chapel and shared with Franco Garcia’s family.

Sincerely,

This is so sad, my heart and prayer go out to his family and friends.

I don’t understand how the police investigators did not find his body sooner. Didn’t they thoroughly search that reservoir when he first went missing?

The reservoir is pretty big and there are areas with a lot of vegetation (from memory, I haven’t been down there in many years). I believe that the Beacon St side (the route from Mary Ann’s to the campus) has a moderately high fence too between the running path and the reservoir. The circumstances of how he got there (given that his car was still there) are quite odd and the police are still investigating to see whether or not foul play was involved.
