My son got in, but I haven't heard about merit aid from this school. There's a lot we like about the school, but because of the merit scholarship offers he's received from two other schools, it's unlikely he will attend. (We've already put two siblings through college and grad school and he has a twin brother just starting as well. Who knew it would cost this much!) Has anyone from the class of 2010 been offered merit aid yet?

No, I just got my acceptance packet and it didn't say anything about financial aid. I called up the admission office and they said that we wouldn't hear until April 15. Why will we receive it so late?

My daughter received the acceptance packet yesterday, without any merit- or need-based aid information.

April 15 does seem awfully late, given that students' decisions are due by May 1 and Seniors may need to visit places they couldn't fit in before. Unfortunately, in our case, Spring Break is the first week in April. While we already have visited Davidson, we might still need to visit a couple of other schools next week (if he gets admitted)- visits that would not be necessary if we knew he would be getting aid from his top choices.

They've given some notification of merit aid. I and at least one other CCer got the regents, the highest academic scholarship ($22,000 a year). Definitely raises Pepperdine on my list, since it's at least affordable now.

I also got the regents. Recieved a couple days after the acceptance packet.

I think I'm going to Pepperdine, but it'll be tough without any financial aid... Has anyone found out about their other scholarships?

Yes, I also had that question. I called up Pepperdine's financial aid office and they said that all of the scholarship recipients, besides the Regents scholars, would be notified with their financial aid package.

Can anyone else confirm this?

No its not true. I got the Dean's scholarship yesterday but haven't gotten my financial aid package yet

I went to the reception today in my area for accepted students, and they said that the financial aid packets would be mailed out within the next 7 or 8 days.

Yep. They said official financial aid and scholarship packages would be mailed out within a week or so. I haven't received the official packet yet for my scholarship, either. They just sent me a letter saying I had the regents, and that more info would be coming.

Ennaxor, did you go to the reception in Irvine?

Yup, I was there.

My daughter also received the Dean's scholarship, but no other financial aid information was enclosed with that letter.

if there was no mail for financial aid.. then does that mean i dont get any? =/

I was told by a financial aid officer that they sent out the FA packets on Friday.

Yes, David, the Director of Admissions told us that financial aid packages were mailed on Friday during his presentation this afternoon at the Malibu reception. So he said everyone should expect to see it in their mailbox early next week.

Sorry you couldn't make it to Malibu today - the weather was perfect, and Pepperdine did a great job communicating to their prospective students what the university can bring to their lives. Very impressive, yet understated.

My daughter was quite impressed with their science program, and that says something!
