<p>I am an incoming freshman to the University of Miami class of 2017. I wanted to know if it is possible to obtain merit based scholarships throughout my years in college. For example, if I were to obtain extraordinary grades throughout my freshman year of college, would the school take this into account and respectivley offer me a scholarship.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, I believe the merit scholarships are only for incoming freshman (and maybe some transfers). Once you’ve begun, there is no new merit money awarded. Need based aid is a different matter tho as I think grants like the Coral are determined each year based on FAFSA.</p>
