Merit-based scholarships...?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but when I visited the WUSTL website, I found that a number of generous scholarships are awarded to applicants every year. However, are these scholarships only for those who applied ED? Since I submitted my application for RD, is it still possible for me to apply for those scholarships?

Both RD and ED applicants can apply to the merit-based scholarships. It’s a completely separate application from admission and the deadline is January 15th.

Does applying for merit scholarships or not applying impact your chances of getting admitted regular decision, meaning do they frown upon “not applying” for a merit scholarship?

Bighurt - I think applying or not applying for these scholarships makes zero difference in the admissions process. It really doesn’t demonstrate less interest in the school. They could as easily conclude that the student can afford WUSTL and doesn’t want to take money away from a student that needs it in order to attend.

For the scholarship applications that require a teacher rec letter, do you have to resubmit it if you already submitted one with your common app?
