<p>If anyone got the email about the UCSC merit scholarship essay contest and wrote the essay, has anyone been notified of an award yet? I know it says no later than April 10, but I'm just wondering.</p>

<p>I got one today. At least $2k but up to six if I have financial need. I don't really know what that means. Financial need like any financial need or Pell Grant type financial need?</p>
<p>Got the same letter as SaveTheManatees. Only 6k over 4 years max? That doesn't sound like a lot. :(</p>
<p>Looking at my other two UC financial aid packages, I'm probably going to get the 2k. I can't believe how little the UCs gave me in general. =/</p>
