Merit Scholarship... deadline?

I JUST finished my application for USC. I was only applying there because I thought it wouldn't be too expensive considering that National Merits get half-tuition.

Is there an application for merit scholarships too? If there is... then oops, whatever, haha.

Or... is it like other schools that just determine merit scholarships for you with your regular application?

the deadline for scholarship consideration was december 11th =(

So, since I didn't complete the scholarship application, I can't receive the national merit scholarship?

Never mind, I found it on the website. The application process only requires the National Merit Foundation or whatever contacting me about it, so it's not handled by USC.

The National Merit Foundation only gives a $1000/yr. scholarship if you're a finalist. The half-tuition scholarship is handled by USC.

If you have Qs about USC's 1/2 tuition NMF scholarship, I suggest you call USC directly & speak with them. THey're very nice & you will get accurate info.

I'd start by calling the Admissions Counselor for your area:

<a href="http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/counselors/admission_counselor/%5B/url%5D">http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/counselors/admission_counselor/</a></p>

Good luck! If you're only seeking the 1/2 tuition NMF scholarship, not sure whether the 12/11 deadline applies, but check it out for your peace of mind.

Oh man, that sucks. I just called them. Since I turned in my application last night, I didn't make the December 11th deadline. The website was too tricky.

From their website, "Application Process: Students will be contacted by the sponsoring agency."

The other scholarships mentioned the December 11th deadline. This one didn't, which led me to assume that the deadline was irrelevant to this scholarship.

UAz & AzSU don't appear to have deadlines on their NMF full-ride scholarships, if either school interests you. Both have some very strong departments/schools & are an attractive option.
