Merit Scholarship

Hey, this might be a stupid question but I was wondering if ASU’s merit scholarship requires me to be under federal aid? I’m applying in the fall and typed in my info in the merit scholarship estimator (Texas, 1050 SAT, 26 ACT, 56% class rank) and it said that i qualify for an $8,000 scholarship. My dad is already paying for my brother’s tuition at OU and my sister’s at Texas Tech.

No. ASU gives merit scholarship w/o looking at FAFSA. You should fill out the FAFSA with 3 children in college at the same time you should be able to receive some sort of aid.

You could have your family complete a financial aid calculator to give you some idea of the likely amount of aid your family may qualify for before deciding whether to apply for aid. It’s already late in the year to apply for FAid for 2013-2014 but good to know in the future. When we were considering ASU and UAz in 2006, neither asked for financial info for merit awards. Sounds like ASU still doesn’t, from above post.
