Merit scholarships at UMiami and Syracuse

@4kidsdad‌ thank you I will look into that
@Heiditree‌ ok I will look into that too thank you

There is no reason why you can’t give UMiami, Syracuse, and any other school that interests you a try. But you absolutely should look at the NYS STEM program if you are in state. You can’t beat that deal. Buffalo is a great school, terribly underrated. My son looked at both Syracuse and Buffalo, and when he went down the list of what he wanted and what was offered to him, Buffalo won out. With the STEM deal, and you are interested in engineering, it’s made for you WHat you save in college costs, you will certainly appreciate as will your family.

@cptofthehouse‌ yes I will look into buffalo!! Any other schools that you suggest. Thank you

Really, it would be difficult to beat the SUNY STEM deal. You can check out RIT, Iona College, any number of the Catholic schools, smaller privates, but having personally checked out the academics at Buffalo, I have to say, they are right up there, and the school offers just about anything anyone wants. It’s a full fledged research university and the sky is the limit in terms of how far one wants to go in a subject with all of the graduate offerings.

Another bonus is that after freshman/sophomore year, many of the kids move off campus so that there is an active student ghetto which means even less cost as there is a lot of available cheap housing. I can’t say for the other SUNYs, though the reps are right there, but DH and I personally looked into that of UB’s.

Stony Brook always had a high rep in my family for STEM.
