Merit scholarships for ED

I was wondering if anyone can confirm/deny that merit scholarships would be prioritized to Regular Decision applicants, rather than ED applicants, since the ED applicants have already committed, and need no coaxing, versus RD, where they are (potentially) competing against other schools. This just makes sense to me in terms of common sense, but I just wanted to find out if anyone knows if this is true or not.

To the same point, can anyone who was accepted ED in December confirm that they in fact got any merit aid with their acceptance letter?

I received a letter awarding merit aid with the acceptance package. It showed up on Esther like a week later.
In terms of FA leverage, I don’t know if it really hurts, though, since the Office of Financial Aid is pretty generous with need-based.

I got in ED and received merit-aid. Need-based aid, however, wasn’t too fantastic.
