Would Udel give a merit scholarship with the admission acceptance if they were going to give it?

In the past when all acceptances were released in March they used to include merit awards with the admission decisions. This year with the new rolling admissions I suspect (I don’t know for sure) that merit awards might be announced later. Perhaps you should email the admissions department to get the correct answer to your question. This would be great for everyone to hear about.

Thanks. I was also thinking that now everyone may be on vacation.

Yes i was accepted and imminently received some merit

But that does not there are not exceptions. Is she still eligible for financial aid once we submit the FAFSA?

Thanks

I believe the answer to your question is no if you are inquiring about possible additional scholarship/grant aid but you should contact UD directly to find out for sure. The FAFSA is primarily of benefit to determine if a student is eligible for unsubsidized versus subsidized Federal loans (i.e. Stafford loans). If you are not interested in loans (the Federal Stafford loans do have lower interest rates than private loans) submitting the FAFSA would probably be of little to no benefit.

The FAFSA is for much more than federal loans. It is also used to determine eligibility for other types of non-merit aid (i.e. need based grants, etc.).
