Merit scholarships

Other than the Stamps Scholarship, is the highest amount of merit money offered by ND $25,000 per year? Just making sure I am reading the scholarship page correctly. Stamps provides full tuition and fees, correct?

TIA.

Everyone is automatically considered for the merit scholarships after being admitted, right? Like besides the Hesburgh-Yusko, we didn’t have to do anything extra?

@bryceman‌ - that’s how I read the info on their website. I am asking on behalf of a friend.

This is correct. I am a current sophomore with one of the 25k per year scholarships. The Stamps is the only full scholarship for now, although I know of a few students on full merit scholarships from outside sources. Bryceman is correct that you do not need to do anything other than apply to be considered for scholarships other than HY. As a note though, The HY scholarship provides quite a few amazing opportunities beyond the money.

How many people get merit scholarships? Is it possible to get one if you are not one of the students invited to Reilly weekend?

@dancing1 I’m a current freshman. Very few people get merit scholarships due to the high caliber students that go there. It’s probably possible but I wouldn’t expect anything.

When notice of acceptance is received, will it contain information on any merit scholarships or does that come separately?

@SCNomad You are generally notified you are in consideration for one before being accepted because they have you interview and go through a whole process. So no don’t expect anything.

I’m curious if some merit scholarships wait until the Hesburgh-Yusko Scholars are chosen. 44 finalists spent three days at ND last weekend and 25 were selected and notified last Thursday, leaving 19 very qualified and highly recruited applicants available for other opportunities. Possibly?
