I just received a letter today saying I got the $2000 Matthews Scholarship. Does this mean that all scholarships have been sent out already (e.g. the Provost Scholarship)? Or do I still have a chance of receiving the other scohlarships?

My S got a letter Saturday–4 year scholarship that basically offers him instate tuition.

I know from previous experience with other son that other scholarships may come in later–related to the honors program, for instance. In fact, he got more money after the May 1 deadline, presumeably because there was money available when someone else declined at the last minute.

mommusic – your son is applying out of state? do you mind divulging some info of him or on the criteria Illinois uses in awarding merit-based aid if you know any? I’m also applying OOS and I don’t think I’ve received anything from them, but I live a ways off from Illinois.

35 ACT, most rigorous curriculum, lots of APs (5s on the exams), and pretty much straight As. Good ECs, too, tho he hasn’t cured cancer or anything. ;)

I have no idea what the actual criteria are.

ah, it appears I received that scholarship, too. If anyone else is wondering, I have33 ACT/1460 out of 1600 SAT, dual credit junior + senior year and taking diff equations / multivariable cal this year, and rank 2/180.

I’m really happy right now – just gotta wait for the other FA stuff to come in.
