If we don't see any aid money on the website, do we assume that we did not receive any merit scholarships?

Were you able to check? We can’t even find a link by which we can check.

I logged into the esther web site and looked under finaid. I didn’t see any award money, so I just assumed that I didn’t get anything.

I was wondering about this also, but after seeing all the other posters reporting on their merit scholarships I can only assume that if it’s not showing up on his Esther page, then there’s nothing for my S. There are no tabs, links, etc. on his page showing any type of financial info.

I’m assuming no merit aid because it would seem unlikely that Rice would selectively inform only some students about merit and and not others.

Does anyone know what percentage of accepted students get merit aid?

I found mine under Esther FinAid.

bugaboo – I’ve seen it mentioned before that Rice gave out merit scholarships to about 1/3 of the class last year.

This is cruel! Why do some havelinks to Financial Aid on esther and some don’t? If it’s that those that don’t have links aren’t getting scholarships, just tell us please!

Go to the Financial Aid tab at the top
Click Award Status
Click Award History

If you have anything, it should be there.

THERE IS NO FINANCIL AID TAB!!!

(Sorry, but feel like we’re in a maze we cant get out of).

The FINAL check would be the letter in the mail, if it has nothing about merit money in there, you didn’t receive any. Best of luck

Have they mailed letters already? But why not just let everyomne check online? Why let some but not everyone? Don’t understand.

^ I’m in the same boat as you Delos. I plan on emailing them, asking for info. I can’t stand to wait 2-4 more days.

Oh well, at least we’re accepted :)

They mail the letters tomorrow.

If you find out please post!

They say it’ll come by April 1st, so that’s the final day.

Wait… so you guys don’t have these?

I am wondering if this tab is only viewable for people who applied for financial aid. What about those who did not submit any finaid forms? How is their merit scholarship information (if any) sent? Only via snail mail?

This thread might help:

Basically, your merit-based aid decision will ONLY be on ESTHER if you applied / wanted need-based aid.

If you didn’t apply for need-based aid and want to know if you got merit-based aid, you’ll have to wait for your letter.

Untrue I think. I didn’t apply for finaid… My parents didn’t even fill out Fafsa. Still had the Finaid link
