Two good links from the financial aid forum to look at.

University of Alabama Huntsville offers 100% tuition scholarships for 30+ ACT and 3.5+ Weighted GPA.

U of Tulsa (private)
U of Oklahoma
Oklahoma State

U of Texas Dallas

Is the student a National Merit Finalist in your home state? That will expand the list considerably.

Arizona State will fly NMF to Tempe to visit the Barratt Honors College.

Also what region are you from? WUE covers certain states, and that would be a large list,
but first tell us where you live.
for example U of Wyoming WUE –

On the west coast USC has great meirt scholarships and a great merit scholarship student experience with tons of academic and nonacademic resources.

Wyoming’s merit scholarship, Rocky Mtn Scholars, gives as much as WUE to OOS residents of any state. South Dakota has OOS tuition that is very low already.

University of Toledo

Pretty much all the smaller OH public Us have scholarships that at least bring OOS costs down to in-state. It depends on your stats.

@Coloradomama unfortunately not a NMF or WUE- we are NY  trying to look south

What is your SAT or ACT score? What is your GPA?

It’s hard to give merit suggestions not knowing the strength of your stats.

ETA…here they are…from another thread.

Just curious…do you have any SUNY schools on your list? The instate costs for these schools is really good…and at some SUNY schools, you might actually get some merit aid.

@thumper1 just binghamton, stony brook, & buffalo… not interested in staying instate

UAH recently changed their Charger Excellence merit scholarship. The tests score have gone up and the housing is only for 2 years instead of 4 years.

Biochem major? Pharm or PA?

How much will your family spend?

Are you retesting?

@WDWAlum The numbers I quoted above are the new numbers.

@elodyCOH I wasn’t trying to contradict you, I am sorry that it came across that way. I was trying to point out that their merit scholarship that covered tuition and housing had changed, My DS was impacted by this change and it may affect others who were looking at UAH. My DS has already said he wants to look elsewhere. He has many options that cover full tuition and fewer that cover housing. The housing portion was very important to his decision.

@mom2collegekids either general bio or biochem. thinking more towards PA but do not want to go direct entry in case i change my mind
25K/yr
retesting my SAT not ACT (i retested the ACT in June and got a 31)… got screwed over on that June curve for the SAT:/

@WDWalum - Same with us. We went and visited and my son actually liked the campus a lot. He qualified for housing and full tuition last year, but with the change this year, we removed UAH from consideration. For the kids with a 30 ACT, though, UAH is still likely one of the best deals out there.
