MFA Graphic Design: SVA or Pratt?

Hello!
I applied to graduate schools for programmes in graphic design as an international applicant.

I was hoping for some advice - I've got offers from the Yale School of Art (3 years), SVA and Pratt. I've also been accepted to some one year programmes in the UK (LCC, Goldsmiths, Westminster) and a two year course at Glasgow. Still waiting on RCA. (Yes, I applied practically everywhere - I really want to go to grad school this year!)

I'm not keen on the 3 or 1 year programs, so I've sort of narrowed my choice to SVA and Pratt (NY is so much more exciting than Glasgow!). Pratt is cheaper (counting my funding offer from them) but it seems like SVA has a better reputation and faculty. Any advice on decision making would be much appreciated!

Some background:
Since I have no formal training in the graphic arts (I studied architecture), skill development is very important - but I also want to be in a great academic environment where there is equal focus on historical perspective and theory. Plus, I also want to be in an informed studio which holds itself responsible to the society - which encourages work that engages with people and is relevant.

I can't really visit the schools to get a feel of their environment - but since everything is soooo expensive, I don't want to making the wrong decision. With this in mind, I'm hoping that someone here also has advice on the length of the program - is a one year program long enough? My parents are pushing for a one year, but I'm resisting - are longer programmes worth it? It's a lot of time and money.

Thanks!
