Hey guys,

I am applying RD to Mt. Holyoke and it's one of my top choices...

and I was going to do the peer evaluation, but did anyone else do it?

Did any of the admitted student ask for/not ask for the optional evaluation?

thanks.

I don't know how useful this is, as I haven't gotten in yet, but I got a friend to do the peer application. I figure its one more POV they'd be interested in, and better than letting my dad shep nokkus. Besides, my friend really wanted to do it. What do you guys think?

It can't hurt! (unless your friend writes some god-awful rec, which I doubt ;) But it always helps the admissions office to have a better idea of who you are beyond your application and having a friend's perspective shows not only the types of relationships you form, but how you treat other members of your community.

This is most useful if it can bring out something about you that doesn't come across anywhere else on your app. It could be your dad or a friend. If a friend, she should focus on specific examples of what you did or said in one or more situations that revealed your true character and why she values you as a friend--it could reflect on your thoughtfulness, generosity, sense of humor, creativity, stimulating conversation, emotional sensitivity , gourmet cooking, or whatever, but should not be vague generalities or repeat what already shows up elsewhere.
